Floral Internship

A hands-on opportunity for high school seniors or college students interested in the wedding and creative event industry.

Interns will experience the behind-the-scenes world of a working event floral studio during peak wedding season - assisting with studio production, wedding prep, workshops and event installations.

This is a paid internship designed to give a realistic look at both the beautiful and hard-working sides of the floral industry.

What Interns Will Experience

Interns will gain exposure to the full workflow of a wedding floral studio, including:

Studio Production

  • flower processing and conditioning

  • preparing vessels and mechanics

  • studio organization and prep

Wedding Preparation

  • assisting with bouquet and centerpiece prep

  • organizing floral recipes and packing materials

  • preparing floral inventory for events

Event Installations

  • assisting with floral installs at venues

  • transporting flowers and materials

  • helping set up ceremony and reception designs

Floral Business Exposure

  • insight into how wedding floral proposals are created

  • understanding how large-scale wedding designs come together

  • learning about the logistics behind event production

This Internship is a Good Fit for Someone Who…

  • May 25 - August 5

    Applicants must be available for the majority of the program dates. Weekend availability a must.

  • Primary studio location: Beachwood, Ohio. Interns will also assist at wedding venues throughout the Cleveland area. Reliable transportation is required.

  • $12-15 per hour

    Completion bonus provided at the end of the program for interns who successfully finish the full internship.

  • Schedule will vary depending on weddings and studio needs. Interns can expect 2-3 days per week on average, with occasional additional days during busy wedding weeks.

    Work may include:

    • studio days

    • workshop preparation & staffing

    • wedding preparation days

    • wedding installation days

    Some early mornings or later evenings may occasionally be required. Schedule will be discussed in the interview process.

This role involves both beautiful design work and practical studio tasks, including lifting buckets, cleaning, organizing, and preparing materials.

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • be a high school senior or college student

  • have reliable transportation

  • desire a flexible schedule week-to-week

  • be comfortable working on their feet, lifting buckets, climbing ladders

  • Interns must be comfortable with early mornings, occasional late nights, and the fast-paced nature of wedding production.

Floral experience is not required.
